On 28th of December 2018, Fundação São Paulo, represented by Fr. Augusto do Carmo Martins signed a contract with the Ambassador of the European Union in Timor Leste, H.E. Dr. Alexander Leitão on the project of “Dare Reforestation” with the reference number: CSO-LA/2018/403006. The total amount of this project is €625,000.00 (six hundred and twenty-five thousand euros) with 90% shared by European Union funds and the remaining 10% by the Fundação São Paulo. In this project, Fundação São Paulo takes on the role of Lead Applicant, in partnership and in consortium with the local NGO RAEBIA Timor Leste, which assumes functions as Co-applicant. The duration of this project is 36 months starting on February 1st 2019 and ending on January 31st 2022.
The main activities of this project are the following:
(a) Water and soil conservation
(b) Dare Eco-farm;
(c) Dare Ecotourism.
Dare is the project’s deployment site. The beneficiaries of this project are the community of Suco de Dare, and residents of the 10 (ten) villages/aldeia. The number of the target group as we proposed in our previous proposal was 300 beneficiaries, which means that each village will represent 10 people participating in the training activities of water and soils conservation, eco farm, and eco-tourism.
